Citrus Polymethoxylated Flavones (PMFs)

What Are Citrus PMFs?

Citrus Polymethoxylated Flavones (or citrus PMFs) are flavonoid compounds derived from the peels of citrus fruits such as oranges and tangerines. Two of these flavonoids — Nobiletin and Tangeretin — serve specific purposes within the RestoreZ patent-pending Circadian Timing Blend.

How Citrus Polymethoxylated Flavones Work:

A functioning circadian clock with properly functioning sleep-wake cycles is essential to reaching optimal metabolism. Natural PMF nobiletin directly targets the circadian clock by improving our metabolic activity and increasing the amplitude of the circadian wave.

What Do Citrus PMFs Have to Do with Sleep?

The amplitude of the circadian wave is an indicator of the strength and robustness of our circadian rhythm. It is measured by the difference between the peaks and troughs of the circadian cycle. Dampened circadian amplitude has been shown to closely correlate with chronic diseases and aging. A well-functioning circadian cycle aids in the synchronization of our entire body system including major organs like the heart, liver and brain. In addition, when our body is in sync, we are more likely to have the best sleep and experience optimal health by resisting stress, poor dietary choices and even the adverse effects of travel.

Science Proves It

Previous studies on nobiletin and tangeretin have shown a link between the circadian clock and metabolic homeostasis. Scientists who have studied the effects of disrupted circadian clocks on animals saw a broad array of dysfunctions including irregular and overeating, obesity risk, and elevated blood glucose and insulin levels. Nobiletin and tangeretin were found to directly activate the receptors that regulate circadian amplitude which not only positively affects metabolic diseases, mood disorders, and aging, but other chronic conditions, such as neurodegenerative diseases as well.
